She spent nearly 20 years as a prosecutor in Hillsborough County, Florida, handling cases involving narcotics, domestic violence, and child predators. Elected as Florida's 37th Attorney General in 2010, she became the state's first female AG, serving from 2011 to 2019 and focusing on human trafficking, opioid abuse, and consumer protection.
