Kamala Harris, born in 1964, is an American politician and attorney serving as the 49th Vice President since 2021. She prosecuted cases as San Francisco District Attorney (2004-2011) and enforced state laws as California Attorney General (2011-2017). Elected U.S. Senator from California in 2017, she became the first woman, Black, and South Asian American vice president under Joe Biden. In 2024, after Biden withdrew, Harris won the Democratic presidential nomination but lost to Donald Trump in the general election. She remains vice president until January 2025.
