Lori Chavez-DeRemer is an American Republican politician and former businesswoman from Oregon. She began her career in construction and real estate, co-owning a business with her husband. Elected Mayor of Happy Valley in 2004, she served until 2010. From 2013 to 2023, she represented Oregon's 51st House District. In 2022, she won election to the U.S. House for Oregon's 5th congressional district, serving one term from 2023 to 2025. Known for bipartisan efforts on issues like wildfires and infrastructure, she lost her 2024 re-election bid to Democrat Janelle Bynum.
