Nikki Haley, born Nimrata Randhawa in 1972 in South Carolina, is an American politician and diplomat. She served in the South Carolina House of Representatives (2005-2010) before becoming the state's first female and Indian-American governor (2011-2017). Appointed U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations by President Trump (2017-2018), she resigned in 2018. In February 2023, Haley announced her candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, the last major challenger to Trump. She suspended her campaign on March 6, 2024, after Super Tuesday losses and endorsed Trump in July 2024.
